Ralph Schuhart
Ralph Schuhart, 87, died
Monday (July 24, 2006) at Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis in
Wichita. He was born May 21, 1919, to Morton and Lois (Barker) Schuhart in
Little Cedar, Iowa. They preceded him in death. He married Evelyne Sawatzky on
Sept. 7, 1958, in Long Beach. She survives of North Newton. He was a member of
First Baptist Church in Newton and served his country in the United States
Coast Guard. Ralph graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. He
taught high school history, geography and economics in Huntington Beach, Calif.
Ralph enjoyed following politics and was a leader of the public affairs forum
at the Newton Senior Center. He enjoyed writing and publishing devotionals, and
he looked forward to wintering with his wife in Arizona.
Other survivors include
numerous nieces and nephews.
He also was preceded in death
by a sister, Virgie Rake.
Funeral service was held
earlier today at First Baptist Church. Pastor Terry Tareila officiated.
Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.

established with American Baptist Missions in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
