Karen Sue Miller
Karen Sue Miller, 54, of
Newton died Saturday (Aug. 5, 2006) at Newton Medical Center. She was born Nov.
24, 1951, in Newton to Clifford Dean and Rozella (Warkentine) Warhurst. She
worked as a scheduler for Norcraft Co. in Newton and formerly worked at Hesco
company in Hesston for several years. She greatly enjoyed time at Hesco and
made many lasting friendships. She was a graduate from Newton High School and a
member of the Newton Eagles Lodge. She also was an honorary member of the
Salina chapter of the Phi Beta Psi Sorority Zeta Omicron chapter. For the past
16 years, she greatly enjoyed and looked forward to helping organize a Texas
Style Co-Ed Softball Tournament. She looked forward to spending time with many
loving friends and family who were all very important to her. She especially
enjoyed spending time with her many nieces and nephews.
Survivors include: her
mother, Rozella Warhurst of Newton; brothers, Ronald Warhurst of St. Clair,
Mo., Larry Warhurst of Parker, John Warhurst of Overbrook and Terry Warhurst of
North Newton; sisters, Sharon K. Chamberlain of Hillsboro, Jo Ann Hopkins of
Whitewater and Janet Mosiman of Newton; 22 nieces and nephews; and 23
great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by
her father, Clifford Dean Warhurst; and a brother, Charles Warhurst.
Services will be at 10 a.m.
Wednesday at First Missionary Church in Newton with the Rev. Ray Adams
officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Peabody.
Visitation will be from 1 to
9 p.m. Tuesday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton with family receiving friends
from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials have been
established with the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society and
Ovarian Cancer Research in care of the funeral home.
