Betty 'JoAnn' Unruh

HESSTON - Betty "JoAnn" Unruh, 55, of Hesston died Thursday (Aug. 10, 2006) at Schowalter Villa in Hesston. She was born July 2, 1951, in Concordia to Kenneth and Mabel May (Comfort) Trickle. She was a member of Trinity Heights United Methodist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and Eagles. She was employed as a business manager. She enjoyed card playing, bowling and working with flowers and plants. She was an excellent cook, very generous and a "social butterfly."

Survivors include: a son, Brandon Unruh of Andover; a sister, Shirley (Trickle) Bailey of Republican City, Neb.; brothers, Roy Trickle of Bonner Springs and Kenneth Trickle of Chapman; a son, James Oursler of Wichita; daughter-in-law Hannah Unruh; and granddaughter Katelyn M. Unruh.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Service was held earlier today at Trinity Heights United Methodist Church. The Rev. Phil Fischer of the church officiated. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. in Miltonvale Cemetery.

Memorials have been established with Victory in the Valley and Trinity Heights United Methodist Church in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
