Jay Betts
Jay Betts, 49, died Sunday
(Sept. 3, 2006) in rural Newton. He was born July 26, 1957, to Jack E. and
Virginia Rosabelle (Menzies) Betts in Newton. They preceded him in death. He
attended Newton High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed his
family and friends. He loved his job as a truck driver and was passionate about
motorcycles, especially his Harley. Survivors include: sons, Brandon Betts and
Jay Betts, both of Iowa; a stepmother, Garnett Betts of Cottonwood Falls; a
sister, Judy Martins of Newton; a brother, Jackie Betts of Winslow, Ariz.; and
a grandchild.
He also was preceded in death
by a stepbrother, Larry Davis.
Visitation will be from 5 to
9 p.m. Thursday with family greeting friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m., all at
Broadway Colonial Funeral Home.
Service will be 10 a.m.
Friday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Peter Ostrander.
Memorials have been
established with JR Betts Memorial Fund at Midland National Bank.
