Benjamin V. Wedel
MOUNDRIDGE - Benjamin V.
Wedel, 86, farmer, died Saturday (Sept. 2, 2006) at Memorial Home in
Moundridge. He was born May 30, 1920, to Helmut Wedel and Martha Krehbiel in
McPherson County. He married Ruth F. Schrag on Oct. 5, 1941, in Moundridge. She
preceded him in death on Jan. 3, 2006. He was a lifetime area resident and a
1937 graduate of Moundridge High School. He attended Bethel College in North
Newton. He was a member of Eden Mennonite Church in rural Moundridge.
Survivors include: four
daughters, Pat Rupp of Moundridge, Cindy Janzen of Elkhart, Ind., Pauletta
Brodhagen of Valley Center and Connie Esau of Hesston; a brother, Arlyn Wedel
of Elyria; sisters, Edyth Entz of North Newton and Ruth Schrag of Moundridge;
nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death
by: a brother, Waldo Wedel; sisters, Agnes Goering and Laura Schrag; and a
granddaughter, Jacki Scott.
Visitation will be from 3 to
8 p.m. today with family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Moundridge
Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 10:30
a.m. Wednesday at Eden Mennonite Church in rural Moundridge with Pastors Floyd
Born and Gail Graber officiating.
Burial will be in Eden Church
Cemetery in rural Moundridge.
