Duane L. Phipps

WHITEWATER - Duane L. Phipps, 74, retired metal urginist, died Saturday (Sept. 23, 2006) at his home in Newton. He was born on Oct. 3, 1931, to W.B. and Faye (Lewis) Phipps in Newton. He married Audrey Weldy on Sept. 30, 1972. She survives of Newton. He graduated from Newton High School. Other survivors include: a son, Steven Phipps of Jacksonville, Fla.; a brother, Wynn Phipps of Concordia; a sister, Jacquelyn Phipps Porter of Newton; and two grandchildren. Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Union Cemetery in rural Benton.
