GOESSEL - Sarah B. Krehbiel,
81, died Tuesday (Sept. 26, 2006) at Bethesda Home in Goessel. She was born on
Sept. 15, 1925, to Oliver Perry and Imogene (Williams) Carr in Danville, Ark.
On Nov. 8, 1943, she married Arthur B. Krehbiel in Newton. He preceded her in
death. Sarah worked as a nurse in area hospitals and nursing homes including
St. Joseph Hospital in Wichita. Sarah was an independent woman who enjoyed the
company of her friends and family. She also looked forward to her morning
coffee at the Breadbasket while her health permitted.
Survivors include: a
daughter, Karen (Krehbiel) Carter of Newton; a grandson, Tyrone Carter of
Newton; granddaughters, Lakesha Carter of Atlanta and Denise Carter of Newton;
brothers, Charles and Sharon Carr of Danville, Ark.; sisters, Orlene Boydston
of VanBuren, Ark., and Louise Carr of Danville; and great-grandchildren, Gabby
and Tilyn Vogt of Newton.
She also was preceded in
death by: her parents; sisters, Josephine Thorp, Alyene Scott and Amanda
Meyers; and brothers, John, James and Andy Carr.
Visitation will be from 1 to
5 p.m. today and from 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday, with family greeting friends from
6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, all at Petersen Funeral Home.
Graveside service will be at
10 a.m. Friday at Halstead City Cemetery.
Memorials have been
established with Hospice Care of Kansas in care of the funeral home.
