Lewis W. Fisher
Lewis W. Fisher, 97, died at
9:30 p.m. Monday (Oct. 2, 2006). He was born April 3, 1909, in Manatu near
Fredrick, Okla. Lewis and his wife Alice, who were married on Feb. 8, 1932, in
Colorado Springs, Colo., owned and operated Fisher Plumbing and Heating Co. in
Peabody from 1950 until they sold the company in the 1970s and moved to Newton.
After moving to Newton, he worked at Hesston Corp. for 16 years before
retiring. They enjoyed traveling, camping and wintering in Texas and and
Arizona.
He was preceded in death by:
his parents, Emory and Anna (Fleeton) Fisher; his wife, Alice P. (Kimberlin)
Fisher; a brother, Chester Lee Fisher; and sisters, Irva (Fisher) Robinson,
Pauline (Fisher) Robinson) Reid and Mary (Fisher) (Tallman) Eilert.
Survivors include: sons,
Monte Fisher (Carolyn) of Whitewater and Kenneth Fisher of Hutchinson; a
grandson, Stephen Fisher (Magda) of Bel Aire; granddaughters, Deanna Miller
(Charles) of Valley Center and Deborah Buttel (Jerry) of Whitewater;
great-grandsons, Matthew and Michael Miller; a step-great-grandson; two
step-great-granddaughters; and five step-great-great-grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. Friday
at Meridian Baptist Church with Pastor Jerroll Martens officiating.
Visitation will be from noon
to 9 p.m. Thursday with family greeting friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at Broadway
Colonial Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Greenwood
Cemetery.
Memorials have been
established with the Meridian Baptist Church Building Fund and Harry Hynes
Hospice, both in care of the funeral home.
