John M. 'Max' Inghram

John M. "Max" Inghram, 87, died Thursday (Oct. 5, 2006) at Asbury Park Healthcare in Newton. He was born on Oct. 29, 1918, to Carl and Addie (Law) Inghram in Newton. They preceded him in death. He married Florence Adler on Jan. 21, 1943, in Newton. She preceded him in death on Sept. 18, 1997. Max was a member of First United Methodist Church in Newton. He was a retired farmer and served his country in the United States Army. Max also worked for the Post Office during his working career. He enjoyed working in his shop and looked forward to snowbirding in South Texas during the winter.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews and several cousins.

He also was preceded in death by: a brother, Jack Inghram; and a sister, Laura Jane Cummings.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday with family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

The family would like to invite its close friends and family to join them for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church.

Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Nathan Morgan of First United Methodist Church and Pastor Doug Inghram of Boscobel, Wis., officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Memorials have been established with First United Methodist Church and Hospice Care of Kansas, both in care of the funeral home.
