Mary Ann Becker

Mary Ann Becker, 91, died Thursday (Oct. 19, 2006) at her home at Presbyterian Manor after a short illness. She was born Sept. 13, 1915, at Bethesda Hospital in Goessel to Jacob and Susanna Abrahams Boese. They preceded her in death. She married Aldo E. Becker on Aug. 4, 1937, at Turpin, Okla. He died Aug. 19, 2005. She was an excellent homemaker and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, taking an active and supportive interest in the lives of her family. She served various roles in the Turpin (Okla.) Mennonite Church and worked as a supervisor at the Liberal Et Cetera Shop for a number of years. In 1998, the couple moved from their farm at Turpin to a Garden Apartment at Presbyterian Manor. They were married for 68 years.

She is survived by her children Larry and Pat Becker of North Newton, Bob and Donna Becker of Newton, and Randy and Linda Becker of Turpin, Okla.; grandchildren Bryan and Kathy Becker of North Newton; Brenda and Scott Moyar of Newton, Bruce and Christina Becker of Newberg, Ore., Kate Becker of Elkhart, Ind., Jason Becker of Stillwater, Okla., and Amanda Becker of Turpin; great-grandchildren Alyssa Becker, Kyle Becker, Wade Becker and Aspen Becker; and sisters Linda Plett of Turpin and Mildred Schultz of Enid, Okla.

She also was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Boese; and two sisters, Tina Edna and Tina Hulda.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Turpin Mennonite Church in rural Turpin, Okla. Burial will be in Turpin Mennonite Cemetery.
