Robert Earl
Runyon, 52, died Saturday (Nov. 4, 2006) at is Newton residence.
He was born
June 6, 1954, in Peoria City, Ill., to William Eugene and Verna Mae (Bohannon)
Runyon.
He was a
retired senior master chief E-9 in the Merchant Marines/Navy. He worked as a
utility man in various foreign countries. He was a former Newell's employee.
He enjoyed
cooking and collecting various items. He enjoyed his nephews and nieces.
He was a
member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Realtor Association and Retired Master
Chief Association.
Survivors
include brothers, Ed and Catherine Runyon of Newton, Michael and Sandy Runyon
of Lake City, Fla., and William Runyon of Lansing; sister-in-law Janet Runyon
of Hutchinson; sisters Penny and Dennis CyPret of Independence, Mo., and Eva D.
Redden of Lincoln, Neb.; 10 nieces; eight nephews; 18 great-nieces and
great-nephews; his mother, Verna Mae Conrad of Newton; and significant other
Arnel J. Cahane of the Philippines.
He was
preceded in death by his father and a sister, Vickie Lynn Runyon.
The funeral
will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel in Newton, with
Chaplain Rose Cook of United Methodist Motorcyclist Ministry of Winfield
officiating.
Visitation
will be from noon to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Petersen
Funeral Home. Family will greet friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at the
funeral home.
Memorials
may be made to the Robert Runyon Memorial Fund in care of Central National Bank
in Newton.
