Funeral services for Elmer Decker will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at Bethany Mennonite Church in Rich Hill, Missouri. Visitation, 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Bethany Mennonite Church. Burial, Bethany Mennonite Cemetery. Contributions, Bethany Mennonite Church Benovelent Fund or Moundridge Manor. Services under the direction of the Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri.
Elmer Laverin Decker, age 84 of Moundridge, Kansas died Saturday, November 7, 2009 at Moundridge Manor in Moundridge. He was born June 25, 1925 to Abe and Helena Dirks Decker in Halstead, Kansas.
Elmer is survived by one son, Leon Decker and wife Sue of Butler, Missouri; two daughters, Wanetta Decker of Moundridge, Kansas and Marlene Koehn and husband Frank of Rich Hill, Missouri; three brothers, Harvey Decker and Ben Decker and wife Marlene all of Walker, Missouri and John Decker of Doniphan, Missouri; two sisters, Elizabeth Miller and Alta Langer both of Nashville, Tennessee; sister-in-law, Della Decker of Moundridge, Kansas; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Donna in 2004; two brothers; and two sisters-in-law.
