Adena Kasper
Adena Kasper departed her
home peacefully to be with her heavenly father on the morning of Wednesday
(Nov. 29, 2006).
She was born Sept. 26, 1913,
to David B. and Suzie (Richert) Eck in Protection. They preceded her in death.
She married Paul Kasper on
April 5, 1938. He preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 1998. She also was preceded
in death by three brothers, Joel, Benjamin and Herman Eck; and two sisters,
Matilda Decker and Martha Eck.
Survivors include: two
daughters, Shirley Davis of Peabody, and Beverly Johann and Rodney (Jack)
Kasper, all of Newton; a sister, Mary Eck of Independence, Mo.; 11
grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She worked at Kinder Corp. as
a seamstress until she retired in 1976. She and her husband built a home in
Peabody, where they enjoyed gardening. She had her own fashion design business
and sewed garments for herself and her family.
She dearly loved spending
time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In 2000, she moved to Newton
from Peabody, where she became a member of the First United Methodist Church
and joined the Deborah Circle.
Visitation will be from 1 to
9 p.m. Monday at Peterson Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 6:30
to 8 p.m.
The service will be at 10
a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, 801 N. Main in Newton, with
Pastor Nathan Morgan officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in
Newton.
