Willie H. Klingenberg
PEABODY - Willie H.
Klingenberg, 92, of Peabody, died Sunday (Dec. 3, 2006) at Newton Medical
Center. He was born Feb. 22, 1914, in Hakendorf, Germany. He was the son of
Herman and Marie Klingenberg. He was a rancher and stockman, and a member of
Zion Mennonite Church. On April 14, 1936, he married Marie Regier in Elbing.
She preceded him in death on March 13, 1999. Survivors include: sons, Victor
and Betty Klingenberg of Bentonville, Ark., and Vernon and Carol Klingenberg of
Peabody; daughters, Jacob and Esther Schrag of McPherson, and Kenneth and Mary
Janzen of North Newton; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren;
step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; and brother, John Klingenberg of
California. .
He was preceded in death by
his parents, Herman and Marie Klingenberg, and a brother, Herman Klingenberg.
Visitation will be from 4 to
8 p.m. Wednesday, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home in
Peabody.
Graveside services will be at
10 a.m. Thursday at Zion Mennonite Cemetery. The memorial service will be at 11
a.m. Thursday at Zion Mennonite Church in Elbing. Memorial contributions may be
made to the Mennonite Central Committee and Zion Mennonite Church.
