Mary A. Benewiat
HALSTEAD - Mary A. Benewiat,
69, of Halstead died Tuesday (Dec. 12, 2006) at Wesley Medical Center in
Wichita. She was born June 4, 1937, in Joplin, Mo., to Donald and Mary Louise
(Ledford) Moriss. Both are deceased. She was a custodian for USD 440, Bentley
Primary School. On Sept. 11, 1956, she married Michael Benewiat in Wichita. He
survives. She was a member of Ruth-Wilson American Legion Post 231 Auxiliary in
Halstead. Other survivors include sons, Daniel and wife Tami Benewiat, John and
wife Mona Benewiat, Steven Benewiat and Mark Benewiat, all of Halstead;
brothers, Peter Anastospolis of Joplin, and James Anastospolis of Carthage,
Mo.; and 10 grandchildren.
In addition to her parents,
she was preceded in death by sisters, Marjorie Smith and Martha Morris.
Services will be at 10:30
a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Halstead with Father Thomas Wai
officiating.
Visitation will be from 2 to
8 p.m. Thursday at Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead.
Visitation with family will
be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Halstead Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be
made to Ruth-Wilson American Legion Post 231 Auxiliary in care of the funeral
home.
