Morris D. Stauffer
July 25, 1928 – Feb. 19, 1950
Morris Dale Stauffer was born July 25,
1928, in rural Seward County, the eldest son of Floyd and Meriel
(Stutzman) Stauffer. After a lengthy illness, he died Sept. 19, 2018.
On Feb. 19, 1950, he married the love of his life, Grace L (Beckler)
Stauffer.
He was a crop and dairy farmer for the
first 15 years of their married life. During the next nine years,
five children were added to this family. In 1952, a revival occurred
in Milford and Henderson, which impacted his life. He had a great
desire to share Jesus with others. In 1965, he sold the dairy and
moved his family to Omaha, where he started Northside Mennonite
Chapel.
His life and example will be cherished
by his five children: Joy (Doug) Kauffman, Twila (Larry) Smith,
Mahlon (Annette) Stauffer, Nolan (Sandy) Stauffer and Wendy (Steve)
Miller; 12 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and 19
great-grandchildren; and siblings, Thurlowe (Inez) Stauffer, Wanetta
(Chuck) Stabenow, Shirley Utter and Tim (Connie) Stauffer.
He was met in heaven by Sandy, his
parents and grandparents, and others who had gone before.
A funeral service was held Sept. 22,
2018, at Hesston Mennonite Brethren Church in Hesston, Kansas. A
graveside service was in the Hesston City Cemetery.
