Carl Edward Grob

Carl Edward Grob, 54, Newton, died Thursday (April 5, 2007) at Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis Campus in Wichita

He was born Jan. 7, 1953, to Carl R. and Mary E. (Jantz) Grob in Newton.

He married Debbie Nicodemus on April 16, 1988, in Newton. She survives of the home.

He was a machinist for Sprint Corp., Boeing and Cessna for more than 20 years. He belonged to the Fellowship of Kingdom Life Ministries in Hesston. He had been active in prison ministry in Ellsworth and served as a partner in the International House of Prayer and the Harp and Bowl Fellowship. He was a dedicated prayer intercessor and was known as a "prayer warrior." He was a supporter of pro-life issues.

His family remembers him as a "morning person," an avid fisherman and a person who enjoyed golfing. He loved all Kansas sports teams, but especially the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs. He played the trumpet and tuba.

Carl had a great sense of humor and enjoyed and loved his family.

He also is survived by: three sons, John Grob of Lawrence, Michael Grob of Okmulge, Okla., and Paul Grob of Newton; three daughters, Jennifer Page of Wellington, Valerie Brandt of Wichita and Angela McGlachlin of Wichita; a sister Mary Del Vecchio of Peabody; and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Grob.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Fellowship of Kingdom Life Ministries in Hesston with Pastor Scott Mitter officiating. Burial will be prior to the service.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Monday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton, with family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. A memorial has been established with Kingdom Life Ministries in care of the funeral home.
