Velda J. Sharp
Velda J. Sharp, 93, died Sunday (May 6,
2007) at Newton Medical Center in Newton.
She was born on Oct. 13, 1913, in
Castleton to John and Mary Ann DeNoon. They preceded her in death. On
Oct. 3, 1931, she married Charles Sharp in Hutchinson. He preceded
her in death. She was a homemaker and a auxiliary member of the
V.F.W. She enjoyed crosswords puzzles and cooking. She also attended
a neighborhood bible study and was a quiet and reserved person.
Survivors include daughter, Charlotte
(Sharp) Stephens of Newton; son, Norman and Phyllis Sharp of
Albuquerque, N.M.; daughter, Shirlee Larson of Blue Springs, Mo.;
grandson, Gary Stephens of Kansas; grandson, Dan Sharp of Kansas;
grandson, Tom Sharp of Russia; granddaughter, Sherri Watt of
Missouri; granddaughter, Tammy Thompson of Missouri; granddaughter,
Christina Sullo of Georgia; granddaughter, Liz Butty of Kansas; 10
grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by six
sisters, a brother and a grandson, Kristopher Larson.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m.
Friday at Peterson Funeral Home in Newton.
Service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at
Petersen Funeral Home Chapel in Newton with Chaplain Bill Regier
officiating.

Association in care of the funeral home.
