Charles 'Charlie' Smith

WALTON - Charles "Charlie" Smith, 60, died Thursday (Dec. 1, 2005) at his residence in Walton.

He was born Dec. 15, 1944, to Elmer Charles and Lillie Mae (Sill) Smith in Emporia. They preceded him in death.

He was a truck driver for Hehr Glass. He had a great love for fishing, gun collecting and his family. He served in the United States Army.

Survivors include: a grandson, Chris and wife Jennifer Frazier of Newton; grandchildren, Ashley, Abigail, Alaya, Alexia and Alyssa; and a companion, Evelyn Yakle of Walton.

Memorial services will be announced at a later date by Broadway Colonial Funeral Home.

Memorial service for Charles "Charlie" Smith will be 2 p.m. Friday at New Life Assembly of God Church, 818 Washington Road in Newton. Pastor Roger Scantlin will officiate.

Broadway Colonial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
