Margaret E. Wingo
Margaret E. Wingo, 87, died
Saturday (Dec. 24, 2005) at Friendly Acres Retirement Community in Newton. She
was born April 5, 1918, to Robert and Emma (Hill) Kasper in Lehigh. They
preceded her in death. She married Raymond H. Wingo July 20, 1935, in Newton.
He preceded her in death Jan. 16, 2004, after 67 years of marriage. Mrs. Wingo
worked as a CNA at Axtell Hospital and Friendly Acres, both in Newton. She enjoyed
fishing and cooking for her family. Margaret was a lifetime member of the
Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include: daughters,
Virginia Moon of Newton and Betty Swafford of Macon, Mo.; two sons, John Wingo
and Gene Wingo, both of Newton; a sister, Janice Trussler of Bloomington, Ind.;
a brother, Richard "Bud" Kasper of Newton; grandsons, Douglas Moon,
Christopher Moon, Mark Moon, James Wingo, Michael Wingo, Darrel Swafford Jr.,
Rudy Perez Jr., Sam Perez and Thomas Wingo; and granddaughters, Marla Cain and
Amy Hopper.
She also was preceded in
death by: a daughter, Donna Perez; a granddaughter, Lisa Swafford; sisters,
Dorothy Holland and Georgina Crawford; brothers, Daniel Kasper and Paul Kasper;
and a great-granddaughter, Felicia Moon.
Visitation will be from 5 to
9 p.m. today with family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Petersen
Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 10
a.m. Wednesday at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Darrel Swafford of
Atlanta Christian Church in Atlanta, Mo., officiating.
Burial will be in Restlawn
Gardens of Memory in Newton.
Memorials have been
established with the donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
