Mrs. Marie Elizabeth Streuli
Death claimed Mrs. Marie Streuli at her home on highway 50s east of Newton about six o'clock this morning, following a lingering illness during which friends have despaired of her life a number of times.
Her daughters, Mrs,. Ida Shank of Wichita, Mrs. Moin Coble of Topeka and Mrs. S. H. Yoakum of this city, were with her,  as was her devoted son, Otto Streuli with whom and for whom she made a home.
Mrs. Streuli has been a resident of Newton and had lived forty of the seventy years of her life in Newton, rearing her family here.
She was a member of the Knights and Ladies of Security and the Brotherhood of American Yeomen.
The funeral service of Mrs. Streuli who died Thursday, November 13 was held at the Sprinker Mortuary Saturday at 10:30 a. m. and was in charge of Rev. J. W. Bays of the First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Harry Sturdevant and Mrs. Fred Coulter sang the hymns with Miss Doris Donaldson as accompanist.
Interment was in the Greenwood cemetery, those bearing the casket to its last resting place being Messrs. Frank Endres, Perry Oakes, Ed Wagner, Dick Shacklett, Robert Staler and Harry. F. Nolte.

Obituary
Mrs. Elizabeth Streuli, was born September 17, 1860 in Baderf and died in her home near Newton Kansas, November 13th, 1930, age 70 years, one month, 26 days.
She came to this country when 20 years of age with a brother and located first in the city of St. Louis. Later she located in Baltimore and was married to Oscar Hartman Streuli August 2, 1881. Mr. Streuli came to this country in 1854. He passed away April 4, 1901.
Nine children were born to this union four having passed away in infancy; the eldest son passed away in 1901. Four children still survive: Mrs. Ida Shanks of Wichita, Mrs. Moin Coble, Topeka, Mrs. Seymour Yoakum, Newton, Otto of the home.
The family after leaving Baltimore lived in Kansas City and later came to Newton in 1890.
Mrs. Streuli was of a family of nine children, seven brothers and two sisters all of whom are gone to the other shore. The last passing two months ago.
 She was one of those women of fine character and genteel spirit whose friends were legion. She was a sweet, kind mother and was much loved by her children and friends.
