FONTAINE ZISMANN
Our dear mother and grandmother, Fontaine Nightingale Zismann, daughter of John and Eva Ratzlaff Nightingale, was born in Poland, Russia, November 22, 1905. She departed this life February 27, 1981, at the Washington Regional Medical Center, Fayetteville, Arkansas, reaching the age of 75 years 3 months, and 5 days.
She was baptized into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, by the late Min. John A. Koehn in 1922 at Montezuma, Kansas.
On August 30, 1925, she was married to Rudolph Zismann at Newton, Kansas, sharing life's joys and sorrows for almost fifty years.
At the age of four, she, together with her mother, brothers, and sisters, came to America from Russia.
After their marriage, she lived at various places in Kansas, California, and the last twenty-eight years at Gentry, Arkansas.

Our mother was confined to a wheelchair the last seven years due to a nerve problem affecting her legs.
She patiently endured much suffering. On February 5, she submitted to surgery, after which complications set in, ultimately resulting in heart failure.
Mother was of a quiet, serious disposition. Often with tears, she spoke of her desire to make it to Heaven, and that her children and grandchildren could be there also.
Her chair is now empty. She will be greatly missed, especially so by Wanda, who gave her constant loving care.

We commit her to God, saying, "Thy will be done."
She leaves to mourn: two sons: Dennis and wife Janet of Macon, Mississippi; Earnest of Gentry, Arkansas; five daughters: Irene, Virginia, and Wanda of the home; Lois, Mrs. Douglas Terry of Bentonville, Arkansas, and Edna, Mrs. C.E. Boyle of Fredonia, Kansas; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Rudolph; her parents; one daughter, Juanita; two sisters; and five brothers.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 2, 1981, in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, with Ministers Harry Wenger and Reuben Koehn officiating. Min. Milton Koehn of Fredonia, Kansas, conducted graveside services. Burial was in the Gentry, Arkansas, cemetery.
