Jesse M. Sills
Jesse M. SIlls, 87, 1229 Manchester, retired Santa Fe Railmill general foreman, died Tuesday (Dec. 7, 1993) at Newton Medical Center.
He was born July 20, 1906, in Mayette [Mayetta] to William Jesse and Martha Bell Bales Sills.
He was a member of Brotherhood of Railway clerks and attended Salem United Methodist Church.
On July 16, 1927, he married Alice E. Friday in Hutchinson.
She survives.
Other survivors include a son, John of Newton; a daughter, Alice Miller of Newton; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Grove officiating. Burial will be in Walton Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday, 9 am. to 9 p.m. Friday and until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be sent to the Salvation Army in care of the funeral home.
