The Newton Kansan

Margaret 'Anne' Stineman

Margaret "Anne" Stineman, 66, of Newton, died Saturday (June 9, 2007) at her home. She was born on March 15, 1941, the daughter of Marguerite Brooker Winger and Jack Martin Hall Sr. in Wichita. On July 19, 1959, she married Richard Stineman at First Christian Church in Newton. Anne was a member of the First Christian Church and served as a Deaconess, a member of the Christian Women's Fellowship (CWF') and many other church organizations and activities. Anne was a 1959 Newton

High School graduate. She remained very involved with the alumni and was responsible for organizing the reunions and hosting the 50-year alumni brunch at her home. During her lifetime, she was a homemaker, providing a loving and nurturing environment for her children, and, occasionally, their friends. Her home was one that was a safe and loving place for many children. She also worked for many years at The Newton Kansan.

A member of the O.E.S of Newton and a former member of the Jaycee Jaynes, she served a term of vice president. She was very active during her lifetime. While her daughters were in the Girl Scout/Brownies group, she served as their troop leader and helped organize the cookie sales. She enjoyed knitting, making special Christmas stockings for her family. She also enjoyed antiqueing, traveling and was an avid sightseer.

Her grandchildren were the love of her life. They lovingly referred to her as "Mamo." Margaret Anne Stineman will be missed greatly, but she left a legacy among her family and friends. Anne always believed in Santa Claus and her children and grandchildren do too. She will always be remembered and loved.

Survivors include her husband Richard of Newton; two sons, Mike Stinieman and Purna Conare of Harmony, R.I.; Matt and Ginger Stineman of Newton; three daughters, Lori Stineman of Colorado Springs, CO., Liz and Barry Anstine of Overland Park; and Lyndi Stineman of Newton; one brother, Jack Martin Hall. Jr. of Wichita; and seven grandchildren, William and Suzanne Mills, Adam, Allison and Anna Anstine, and Dalton and Cody Stineman.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton with the family greeting from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church in Newton. Private burial will be held at a later time.

Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, Kansas Christian Home or Newton High School Centennial Endowment Fund/Athletic Department, all in care of the funeral home.
