J. Kay Robinson
J. Kay Robinson, 61, died Sunday, June 19, in Hospice Care at Halstead Health and Rehabilitation in Halstead.
Robinson was born December 30, 1943 in Caldwell, the daughter of Elmer Edward Riley and Lillian Madge Arnold.
She attended South Haven Schools.
On January 11, 1969 she married Maurice Robinson at South Haven. He survives.
Kay is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints
Newton Ward. She raised her family in Kingman, where she worked at
Kingman Hospital and Exxon Chemicals.
She and her husband
raised nearly 25 foster children in their home before moving from
Kingman to Newton in 1989 to work as houseparents at United Methodist
Youthville. Following her work at Youthville, she went to work for
Kidron Bethel Healthcare as a Certified Nursed Aide until her
retirement.
Kay looked forward to spending time with her
friends and family and especially looked forward to family meals
together on special occasions. She enjoyed spending time with her four
grandchildren and playing cards with friends.
Survivors include
her husband, Maurice Robinson of Newton, son Charlie Robinson of
Newton, daughter Andrea and Tony Arreguin of Newton, daughter Helen
Robinson of Peabody, brother Roy and Nina Riley of Walla Walla, Wa.,
brother Terry D. and Sharon Riley of South Haven, sister Iris Beshirs of
Haysville, sister Mable Pyeatt of Wellington, sister Carol and Jeff
Kolb of Waco, Texas, grandsons Christopher Arreguin of Newton and Porter
Robinson of Peabody, granddaughters Melissa Arreguin of Newton, and
Morgan Arreguin of Newton.
She was preceded in death by her
father Elmer Edward Riley, mother Lillian Madge Riley, brothers Ray
Riley, Chester Riley, sister Wanda Kosmicki, and four great
grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Thursday, June 23, 2005. Bishop
Timothy Nichols of the LDS Church Newton Ward will officiate.
Graveside funeral services will follow at the Rose Hill Cemetery in
South Haven at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2005. The casket will be opened
at the graveside prior to the service.
Visitation will be
Wednesday, June 22, 2005 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Petersen Funeral Home,
Newton. The family will recieve friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Memorials have been established with the Hospice Care of Kansas and the Halstead Health and Rehabilitation.
Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced by Petersen Funeral Home, Newton.
