Elsie LaVon Coop
Elsie LaVon Coop, 74, died
Monday (Feb. 12, 2007) at Kidron Bethel in North Newton.
She was born March 20, 1932,
to Marie and Abe Williams in Buhler. She was a homemaker during her lifetime.
LaVon was a member of the Newton Fine Arts Association and Trinity Heights
United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her
husband, Frank Coop of Newton; sons, Alan Conwell and wife Jana of Salina, and
Robin Conwell and wife Anna of Franktown, Colo.; stepdaugher, Susan Duke of
Carl Junction, Mo.; brothers, Rodney Williams and wife Twila of Florence, and
Darrell Williams and wife Kay of Valley Center; five grandchildren; and many
nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by
her parents; brother, Kenneth Williams; and sisters, Maxine Bennett and Phyllis
Brosemer.
Book signing will be from 8
a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton.
Memorial service will be at
11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. There will be a private burial at Claney
Cemetery in Marion.
Memorial contributions may be
made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Kidron Bethel Village in North Newton and
Newton Fine Arts Association.
