MRS. VERN BACKUS

NEWTON, Kan. — Services for Mrs. Nancy M. Backus, 84, will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Petersen Funeral Home. Burial will be in Wichita Park Cemetery. She died Tuesday.

Born in Larned, Kan., she moved to Newton 13 years ago from Wichita, where she had lived more than 50 years. Her husband, Vern, died in 1951.

Survivors include three sons, Leroy Miller, Pasadena, Calif., Floyd Miller, Newton, and Max Miller, Wichita; a brother, Walter Rogers, Enid, Okla., and a sister, Mrs. Morris Dean, Topeka.
