Margaret H. Moore
Margaret H. Moore, 85, died Monday
(Feb. 10, 2003) at Newton Medical Center. She was born Nov. 11, 1917,
to Homer and Effie (Blair) LaClair in Aurora. They preceded her in
death. She married John Moore Dec. 30, 1936, in Manhattan. He
preceded her in death Nov. 30, 1998. She was a member of Our Lady of
Guadalupe Catholic Church in Newton. She was co-owner and operator of
Moore's IGA located at Cedar Village from 1954 to 1982 before
retiring. She enjoyed puzzles, sewing, gardening and flowers.
Survivors include: three sons, Jerry
Moore of Wichita, and John Moore Jr. and Greg Moore, both of Newton;
three daughters, Pamela Navrat of Newton, Marietta Linke of Spokane,
Wash., and Sheryl Geis of Arlington, Texas; 23 grandchildren; 39
great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; four
step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and a
step-great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 9 a. m. to 5 p.
m. Wednesday at Petersen Funeral Home.
Recitation of the rosary will be 7:30
p. m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Funeral service will be 11 a. m.
Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the Rev. Floyd
McKinney officiating.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic
Cemetery in Newton.
Memorials have been established with
Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in care of the funeral home.
