Rita A. Emery
McPHERSON -- Rita A. Emery, 69, died
Saturday (Feb. 8, 2003) at her home in McPherson. She was born June
18, 1933, to Cecil L. and Margaret (Zarnowski) Reffner in Newton.
They preceded her in death. She married Richard H. Emery June 8,
1952, in McPherson. He preceded her in death May 28, 1982. She
attended McPherson grade schools, McPherson High School, and
graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic School in Wichita. She was a
homemaker and a commercial loan teller for Home State Bank and Trust
in McPherson.
Survivors include: a son, Tom Emery of
Marquette; three daughters, Barbara Ellis of Great Bend, Terri
Emery-Thornton of San Francisco and Dr. Julia Clark of Austin; a
brother, Charles Reffner of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Judy Remp of
Orlando, Fla., and Martha Ellen Strouse of Colwich; and six
grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by two
brothers, Merle Reffner and Maurice Reffner.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p. m.
Wednesday with family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p. m. at
Gliden-Ediger Funeral Home in McPherson.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a. m.
Thursday at First United Methodist Church in McPherson with the Rev.
Karen Rice-Ratzlaff officiating.
Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery.
Memorials have been established with
First United Methodist Church and the McPherson Public Library both
in care of the funeral home, 222 W. Euclid Street, McPherson, KS.
