RITES HELD HERE FOR LLOYD (DAD) REFFNER
Funeral services honoring Lloyd (Dad) Reffner were held in the First Baptist Church in Manitou Saturday Afternoon with Rev. Roy Hopper officiating. Mr. Reffner was a former resident of Manitou. While here, he taught school several years and also operated the drug store here in Manitou. He was 55 years old and was a World War II veteran. After moving to California to make his home, he became a post office employee in San Francisco, a job he held at the time of his death.
He died at his home in San Francisco Sunday, July 27, of a heart attack. He was a brother of the Manitou postmaster, Clarence Reffner. One other brother, Martin, of Clinton, and three sister, Mrs. Alto Sloan of Jasper, Ark., Mrs. Florence Curtis of Stigler and Miss Serena Reffner of Tulsa, survive him.
His parents preceded him in death. Burial was in the family plot at the Manitou cemetery beside his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Reffner.
