Helen L. (Horofski) Smith
Fogelsville, Pa. - Helen L.
(Horofski) Smith, 93, died Jan. 30, 2007, at her home in Fogelsville, Pa. She
was a former resident of Presbyterian Manor in Newton, where she lived with her
late husband, Robert T. Smith.
While living in Newton, Helen
and her husband were members of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.
Born in Detroit, she was the
daughter of the late Julius and Louise (Tomaszewski) Horuszkiewicz.
She was an assembly worker
for the Chrysler Corp. in Detroit for eight years. She was a member of St.
Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church in Orefield, Pa.
A strong but warm-hearted
person, Helen was a very devoted and loving mother, wife, grandmother, and
great-grandmother. With her love of movies, Helen had dreams of becoming an
actress and traveling the world. She was a wonderful cook and loved painting
ceramics.
Survivors include: son,
Robert D. and wife Mary R., with whom she resided; granddaughters, Michelle
McVicker of New Ringgold, Tanya Engler of Ontario, Canada, and Nichole Smith of
Atlanta; great-grandchildren, Katey and Mackenzie McVicker and Isaac Engler;
and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by
six brothers and sisters.
Graveside service will be at
1 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery in Newton. Arrangements
are by Keller Funeral Homes Inc. in Fogelsville.
