Linda D. Riggins
Linda D. Riggins, 61, died Friday
(March 10, 2006) at Newton Medical Center. She was born June 21,
1944, to W.R. and Twila Dean (Allen) Hayes in Wichita. They preceded
her in death. Linda volunteered at Wesley Medical Center for more
than 10 years. She graduated from Hesston Academy. She lived all over
the world, but finally settled in the place she loved to call home,
Kansas. She enjoyed crafts, eating, cooking, music, TV and books. She
cherished her many friends and time with her grandchildren. Most of
all the lights of her life, her true successes, her legacies are her
children.
Survivors include: daughters, Traci and
George Eason and Amy and David Drake, all of Newton; a son, Marc and
Lisa Fitz-Roy of Newton; granddaughters, Cheyenne Fitz-Roy,
Shenandoah Cooper, Breana Drake, Ariel Drake and Makenzie Drake, all
of Newton; a grandson, Ltpl Elliott Adams of Newton; a
great-granddaughter; sisters, Kathleen Wohlgemuth of Hesston and
Becky (Heybeck) Marcus of Dresden, Tenn.; brothers, Butch Hayes of
South Carolina and Steven Hayes and Kelly Hayes, both of Newton; 13
nieces and nephews; and 15 great-nieces and great-nephews.
She also was preceded in death by: a
brother, Abe Hayes; two nieces; and a nephew.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p. m.
today with family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8 p. m. At Petersen
Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 2:30 p. m.
Tuesday at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tyler Branine of
Manhattan Christian College officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Memorials have been established with
the Linda D. Riggins fund for funeral expenses in care of the funeral
home.
