Frank Murphy
Frank Murphy, 96, died Friday (March
10, 2006) at Newton Presbyterian Manor. He was born Nov. 12, 1909, to
David King and Delphi (Atwood) Murphy in Poteau, Okla. They preceded
him in death. He married Edna Ruark Nov. 12, 1933, in Girard. She
preceded him in death Nov. 10, 1993. He was a member of Central
Community Church in Wichita. Frank retired from the National
Cooperative Refinery Association, which later became Farmland
Industries, as a production supervisor in the oil fields. He greatly
enjoyed spending time gardening and fishing.
Survivors include: a daughter, Donna
(Murphy) Duncan of Wichita; a son, Jack Murphy of Pace, Fla.; 16
grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren, and 33
great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p. m.
Tuesday with family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8 p. m. at Petersen
Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 2 p. m.
Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dale Lewis of Central
Community Church officiating.
Burial will be in Restlawn Gardens of
Memory.
Memorials have been established with
the Newton Presbyterian Manor Good Samaritan Fund and the Motivator's
Class at Central Community Church, both in care of the funeral home.
