GORDON LUCAS
Hutchinson -
Services for Gordon L. Lucas, 61, Hutchinson, were Friday, Feb. 18, at
Elliott Mortuary Chapel. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery,
Hutchinson, with military graveside services by the Fort Riley Honor
Guard.
Mr. Lucas died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.
He was born August 22, 1938, in Newton, the son of Keith and Virdean
(Davis) Lucas. He graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1957.
Mr. Lucas had served in the U.S. Army and was a retired produce manager
for Dillons. He attended Zion Lutheran Church, Hutchinson, and was a
member of the Sons of American Legion Lysle Rishel Post No. 68,
Hutchinson.
He married Nancy J. Sewing on March 11, 1967, in Hutchinson. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Terry, Goddard, and Randy, El Dorado;
a daughter, Kylie Lucas, Wichita; his parents, Lawrence; three sisters,
Darla Westbrook, Hot Springs, Ark., and Janice Arnold and Karen Lucas
Pahl, both of Lawrence; and seven grandchildren.
A son, Gordon Lucas Jr., died Nov. 8, 1999.
The family suggests memorials to the Heart Transplant Association
Assistance Fund or Hospice of Reno County, sent in care of the Elliott
Mortuary, 1219 N. Main St., Hutchinson 67501.
