Richard Scott McFarlane
Richard Scott McFarlane, 49,
died Thursday (Feb. 15, 2007) at his Newton residence.
He was born Jan. 5, 1958, in
Newton to Jim and Nancy (Hogan) McFarlane. He married Mary Kay Winter on Sept.
18, 1981, in Newton.
He was a fireman for the city
of Newton, retiring on Aug. 6, 2006, with 29 years of faithful service. He
owned Fleming Seamless Guttering from 1990 to 2006.
His many hobbies included
yard work, barbecue, home improvements, jet skiing, motorcycle trips and many
summer vacations.
Survivors include his wife,
Mary Kay (Winter) McFarlane of Newton; mother, Nancy (Hogan) McFarlane of
Newton; father, Jim McFarlane of Newton; daughter and fiance Jalayne McFarlane
and Jared Culbertson of Baldwin City; daughters, Krystyna McFarlane and Sarah
McFarlane, both of Newton; sons, Michael and Jacob McFarlane of Newton;
brothers, Randy, Rob and Ron McFarlane; and sisters, Jamie Wild, Stacy Arellano
and Jacque Wedel.
He was preceded in death by
an uncle, Jack McFarlane; and nephew, Brian Arellano.
Visitation will be from 9
a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary
will be at 7 p.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Newton.
Services will be at 10 a.m.
Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. James Mainzer officiating.
Memorial contributions may be
made to MD Anderson Brain & Spine Center in Houston in care of the funeral
home.
