Wiebe, Henry

Henry Wiebe, 86, 913 Allison, retired general foreman for the Santa Fe Rail Mill in Newton, died unexpectedly Wednesday at Bethel Deaconess Hospital.
Services will be at 2p.m. Saturday at the Newton bible Church, of which he was a member. The Rev. Ted Veer will officiate and burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
He was born April 12, 1894 near Lehigh, the son of Henry and Suzanna Wiebe. On December 14, 1917, he married Ruby Enns of Canton. They lived in Newton since 1926. He retired from the Sante Fe Railway in 1963.
In addition to his wife of the home, he is survived by three sons, Austin of Hutchinson, Robert of Newton, and Lewis of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Alvera (Mrs. Orlando) Schmidt and Lorna (Mrs. John) Pritz, both of Newton: One brother Jacob of Hillsboro: two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Ewert and Mrs. Susie Schroeder, both of Newton: 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
