Mildred Vajnar
Mildred Vajnar, 89, Newton,
died Thursday (Feb. 22, 2007) at Kansas Christian Home.
She was born on Feb. 8, 1918,
to Lucy (Navrat) and Adolph Holub in Marion County.
She married Jerry Vajnar on
Oct. 14, 1941, in Pilsen.
She was a homemaker and a
farmer during her lifetime.
She was a member of St.
Mary's Catholic Church. She served on the Holy Redeemer Altar Society, Tampa,
and also served on the Altar Society of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Newton.
She is survived by her
husband; two daughters, Jane Combs and husband Pete of Newton and Vickie Krause
and husband Don of Marion; two sons, Jerome Vajnar and wife Cindy of Corpus
Christi, Texas, and Lynne Vajnar and wife Connie of Newton; 16 grandchildren;
and 33 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by
brothers Albert, Louis and Sylvian and sisters Anna and Henrietta.
Visitation will be from 1 to
9 p.m. with the family greeting friends from at 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Broadway
Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Mary's
Catholic Church with Father James Mainzer officiating. Rosary service will be
at 1 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Newton.
Memorial funds have been
established with St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Father Capen Foundation and
the Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home.
