Felicia Hernandez
Felicia Hernandez, 82, died
Saturday (Feb. 24, 2007) at Newton Presbyterian Manor in Newton.
She was born on Feb. 21,
1925, to Pedro and Maria (Regelado) Hernandez.
She was a member of Our Lady
of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Newton, where she was a member of the Blanket
Ministry and Alter Society. She worked at the former Gibson's in Newton and
retired as a teachers aide from Lincoln School in Newton. She left Gibson's in
order to care for her mother until her death. She enjoyed walking and feeding
the birds on Sand Creek. She will be remembered as a loving sister and friend
to many.
Survivors include a sister,
Jovita Nunez of Newton; a sister, Teresa Alvarado of Kansas City, Mo.; a
sister, Edelmira Pedrosa of Newton; a sister, Belen Terrones of Newton; a
sister, Petra Lujano of Newton; a sister, Cecilia Hernadez of Newton; a
brother, Rudolph Hernadez of Wichita; a brother, Robert Hernandez of Newton;
and a brother, Russell Hernandez of Newton.
She was preceded in death by
her parents and a brother, Carlos Vasquez.
Visitation will be from 1 to
5 p.m. today at Petersen Funeral Home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at
7 p.m. today at Our Lady of Guadalupe. The family will receive friends in the
Guadalupe Hall following the Rosary.
The funeral service will be
at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the Rev. Floyd
McKinney officiating.

Hospice Care of Kansas in care of the funeral home.
