Elton Wenger
HESSTON -- Elton Wenger, 73, died Oct 27, 1988, at his home, Rt. 1 Hesston. Born Feb. 21, 1915, he married Velma Irene Dirks July 24, 1938, in Greensburg. A farmer, he was a lifetime Hesston area resident.
He was a member of Garden View Mennonite Church, near Hesston.
Survivors: wife, of the home; sons, Richard D. Hesston, Wayne D., Faunsdale, Ala.; daughters, Joyce Wiggers, Hesston, Lois Boeckner, rural Moundridge, Leah Wedel, Halstead, Phyllis Holdeman, rural Halstead; brothers, Herby and Milferd, rural Newton, Clayton, Moundridge, Marvin 'Bill', Newton, Norman, Galva; sisters, Mae Wiggers, Newton, Ruby Smith, Isabella, Okla., Clara Holdeman, Moundridge, Della Schmidt, Montezuma; 23 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Funeral will be 2:30 p. m. Sunday at Garden View Mennonite Church, ministers Arnold Wiggers, Lynford Holdeman and Merle Wenger. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, Hesston. Memorials may go to the American Cancer Society or Harvey County Hospice.
