James Leonard Cain

James Leonard Cain, age 76 of 2537 N Hoover, a retired farmer died on Tuesday, May 27, 1969. He was born May 21, 1893 in Platte City, MO to William I. Cain and Sarah Lettie Cain. He came to Halstead, KS in 1956 from Sedgwick, KS.

James Leonard Cain and Minnie P Woolman were married on May 24, 1917 in Wichita, KS. They farmed for several years in the Colwich, Halstead and Sedgwick, KS areas and have resided at 2537 North Hoover in Wichita since their retirement.

Survivors include his widow, Minnie P (Woolman) Cain; three sons, Milton (Alice) and Gerald (Lorane), both of Wichita, KS and Lewis (Elizabeth), rural Halstead, KS. Two daughters: Mrs. Marjorie (Gibb) Sentel, Brighton, CO and Mrs. Lois (Berkley) Watts, Ponca City, OK. A brother, William Franklin “Frank” Cain of Nampa, ID and a sister, Mrs. Mary (William) Young, Portland, OR.

Services were held on Saturday at 10:00am in the Downing Mortuary, Downtown Wichita. Burial will be in the Maize Cemetery.
