Dorothy M. Holinde
Dorothy M. Holinde, 77, died
Thursday (Feb. 16, 2006) at her residence in Newton. She was born Feb. 10,
1929, to Francis William and Lena Myrtle (Dugan) Rosencutter in Manhattan. They
preceded her in death. She married John Holinde Aug. 15, 1947, at St. Mary's
Catholic Church in Newton. He preceded her in death Sept. 17, 2004. Dorothy
enjoyed collecting knick knacks for her home and ceramics, and she greatly
enjoyed going to garage sales. Dorothy was a people person and enjoyed spending
time with her friends and family. She enjoyed cooking and following family
history and genealogy. She also liked to travel and sightsee. One of Dorothy's
favorite activities was camping with her family and outdoor activities.
Survivors include: sons,
Frank Holinde and Steven Holinde, both of Newton; daughters, Darlene Hamilton
of Nampa, Idaho, and Lisa Holinde of Newton; 14 grandchildren; 21
great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 to
9 p.m. Sunday with family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Petersen
Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 10
a.m. Monday at Petersen Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Bell of First Christian
Church officiating.
Burial will be in Halstead
City Cemetery in Halstead.
Memorials have been
established with Hospice Care of Kansas in care of the funeral home.
