Laurie Diane Herbst
GREELEY, Colo. - Laurie Diane
Herbst, 50, died Saturday (Feb. 25, 2006) at her residence. She was born Dec.
13, 1955, to Geneva (Schroeder) and Lucien Woelk in Newton. Her mother
survives. Her father preceded her in death. Laurie lived in the Eaton/Greeley,
Colo., area since 1969. She graduated from Eaton High School in 1974. She
married Terry Herbst in 1975 in Greeley and they later divorced. She worked at
Big R as a head cashier and later worked at Weld County Garage as a fleet sales
coordinator for several years.
Laurie had suffered for many
years with progressive multiple sclerosis but was never too ill or tired to
offer love and compassion as she listened to the heartaches and concerns of
those around her.
Other survivors include: a
son, Michael and Kanada Herbst of Greeley; a daughter, Sarah Herbst of Greeley;
a brother, Jeffrey and Sharyn Woelk of Longmont, Colo.; sisters, Terri Nussbaum
of Fort Collins, Colo., and Jolene Woelk of Boulder, Colo.; in-laws, Reynold
and Wynona Herbst of Greeley; an adopted sister, Charlotte Moore of Greeley;
and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in
death by: grandparents, Art and Hulda Woelk and Henry and Agnes Schroeder; and
a brother-in-law, Mike Nussbaum.
Funeral service will be 10
a.m. Friday at Journey Christian Church in Greeley.
