Lillian Jeannette (Smith) Cave
WHITEWATER - Lillian Jeannette (Smith) Cave, 95, died
Saturday (May 12, 2007) at Sedgwick Health Care Center in Sedgwick.
She was born on April 28, 1912, at the Smith homestead,
Richland Township to Benjamin and Ellen Pearl Smith. She lived most her life on
this farm. She graduated from Whitewater High School in 1930, and attended
Axtell Nursing School. She married Ray Allison Cave on Dec. 24, 1933, in
Marion. They have three daughters, Carolyn Ann, Marilyn Lee and Sue Ellen.
In World War II, and the 1950s she worked at Boeing Aircraft
Co. She served on the Richland township election board and District No. 27
Pleasant Ridge school board. She was a member of the W.W.W. EHU, Sedgwick EHU,
Girl Scouts, Mothers Club in Sedgwick, Kids Club Senior Citizens, in Whitwater,
Over Sixty Club, Green Valley Birthday Club and Frederick Remington Historical
Society. She taught Sunday School and Bible School. She was a member of the
Women's Mite Society, Women's Fellowship and Wheat State Manor Auxiliary. She
was a member of the Whitewater Lutheran Church and the Federated Church.
She was always there for her family in times of hardship as
well as the joys of life. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Survivors included daughters, Carolyn Ann and Monte Fisher
of Whitewater, Marilyn Lee and Raymond Ghere of Sedgwick, and Sue Ellen and
Ronald Ash of Wilmington, Ohio; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren six
great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Elizabeth Harris.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Lamb Funeral
Home in Whitewater.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Whitewater Federated
Church in Whitewater. Burial will be at Whitewater Cemetery in Whitewater
following the service at the church.
Memorials may be made to the Whitewater Federated Church,
Whitewater Volunteer Fire Department or Whitewater Cemetery.
