Cecil Kluge
Cecil Kluge, 77, of The
Lakes, S.C., died Wednesday (May 23, 2007) at Conway Medical Center.
Born in Newton, he was the
son of the late Martin W. and Vivian Oliver Kluge. He was a graduate of Newton
High School and attended Kansas State University, where he was a member of Syconia
and a founding member of the Zeta Chapter of Beta Signa Psi National
Fraternity. He was a United States Air Force veteran, serving in Japan during
the Korean War. He worked with IBM for 35 years, retiring in 1991. He had been
very active in East Fishkill, N.Y. Little League and Cub Scouts Pack 72 with
his sons. He was an avid gardener, being a New York state certified farmer and
selling his produce at the farmers market. He loved fishing anytime, anyplace,
especially sitting on the dock in the backyard and catching "The Big
One." He moved to Myrtle Beach in 1995 and was a member of the Holy Lamb
Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife of
50 years, Mary Margaret Kluge; sons, Peter Kluge and wife Traci of Marlboro,
N.Y.; James Kluge and wife Denise of Conway; Mark Kluge and wife Lori of Moncks
Corner, S.C.; Air Force Msgt. Ret. John Kluge and wife Colleen of Ransom, W.
Va.; Dan Kluge of Myrtle Beach; and Matthew Kluge and wife Nicole of
Elizaville, N.Y.; grandchildren, Mark, Jr., Melissa, Army specialist Ryan,
Joshua, Devin, William, Tyler, Justin and Sarah.
Visitation with family will
be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Goldfinch Funeral Home in Murrells Inlet, S.C.
Service will be at 11 a.m.
Saturday at Holy Lamb Lutheran Church in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
