Blanche Ina Froelich
Blanche Ina Froelich, 76,
died Monday (May 28, 2007) at her Newton residence.
She was born Feb. 5, 1931, on
a farm east of Newton, to Orla David and Ina May (Diehl) Turner. They preceded
her in death. She attended Stone School until seventh grade. At that time, her
family moved to town. She graduated from Newton High School in 1949. She also
attended Wichita Business College.
In 1949, she married Buford
J. Dillon and later married Samuel J. Froelich. Both preceded her in death.
She was a member of Salem
United Methodist Church in Newton. She worked at F.W. Woolsworth while
attending high school. She was a secretary at several places of business. She
also was a desk clerk at the Ramada Inn before becoming co-owner in a number of
rental houses and a small motel. She loved her home, family and friends. She
also enjoyed her flowers and gardening.
Survivors include son,
Randall J. Dillon and wife Angela of Newton; granddaughter, Andrea Sturgeon and
husband Mike of Newton; grandson, Zachary Dillon and wife Stephanie of Newton;
brother, LeRoy Turner of Austin, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by
a brother, Merle Turner; and two sisters, Ruby Rivers and Viola Goertzen.
Visitation will be from 9
a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home Chapel in Newton with
family present from 6 to 8 p.m.
Graveside service will be at
11 a.m. Friday at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton. Burial will be at Greenwood
Cemetery in Newton.
Memorials may be made to the
America Heart Association or American Diabetes Foundation in care of the
funeral home.
