Elda L. Guhr
HESSTON — Elda Lina (Roupp) Guhr, 88,
went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday (April 24, 2018) at
the Schowalter Villa in Hesston.
She was born on the family farm near
Hesston to John and Lillie (Balmer) Roupp on Dec. 8, 1929.
Elda graduated from Hesston Academy and
attended Hesston College. On December 27, 1951, she married Adolf
Guhr of Potwin at the Pennsylvania Mennonite Church at Zimmerdale.
After several years of marriage, they
made their home east of Newton where they lived for 56 years. She was
a homemaker. Most important to Elda was living her faith and loving
her family.
She is survived by her husband, Adolf,
and children, Gerri (Dallas) Klaassen of Newton; Jolene (Doug) Yoder
of Haven; Lonnie (Lorna) Guhr of Newton; Lori (Ruckman) Nilsen of Bel
Aire; sister, Ruth Yutzy of Hutchinson; brother Delbert Roupp of
Lakewood, Colorado. Elda is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 10
great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents
and brothers Willard and Milford Roupp.
The casket will be open at the chapel
of Schowalter Villa from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday (April 27, 2018) where
the family will receive friends between 6 and 8 p.m.
Graveside service will be held at 9:30
a.m. Saturday (April 28, 2018) at Eastlawn Cemetery in Zimmerdale.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, (April 28, 2018)
at Whitestone Mennonite Church of Hesston.
