Leona M. Pauley
Leona M. Pauley, 54, died
Tuesday (June 18, 2007) at Newton Medical Center in Newton. She was born on
March 22, 1953, in Attica to Roy and Irene Younce. On June 25, 1977, she
married Michael T. Pauley in Attica. He survives at home. She was a diabetic
and wrestled with this disease for many years of her life. She was an honest
and straight forward person who showed great support for her daughter and
husband. She felt strongly about social injustice and treating people fairly in
life. She loved to garden, crochet and embroidery. She was an animal lover and
collected stuffed animals and Beenie Babies. Her family will remember her as a
very loving, brave and supportive person.
Survivors include her mother;
daughter, Michelle Pauley of Newton; brothers, Joe Younce of Hutchinson and
Robert Younce of Attica; and a sister, Barbara Voorhees of Maize.
She was preceded in death by
her father.
Visitation will be from 9
a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton with family present
from 6 to 8 p.m.
Service will be at 10 a.m.
Saturday at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel in Newton with the Rev. Phil Fischer
officiating. Burial will be at Attica Cemetery in Attica.
