Darlene A. Gaede Esau
Peterson, 73, died Sunday (June 24, 2007) at Newton Medical Center in Newton.
She was born on March 23, 1934, in Hillsboro to Henry and Mary Lou (Gibson)
Gaede. She was a taxi driver in Sioux Falls, S.D., a member of the First Church
of the Nazarene in Newton and attended the Nazarene Church in Sioux Falls. She
was a member of TOPS in Sioux Falls and a Senior Companion, where she provided
rides and companionship to the elderly. She also was a 39-year member of the
Newton Art Association and the Newton Eagles Lodge. She looked forward to
spending time with her friends and loving family.
Survivors include sons, Kim
and Denise Esau of Newton, Tom and Marsha Esau of Lafayette, Ind., and Jeff and
Maria Esau of McGregor, Texas; daughter, Bonnie and Robert Blades of Woodstock,
Ga.; sons, Butch Esau of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Mike and Lori Esau of Newton;
daughter, Laurie Esau of Sioux Falls, S.D.; sisters, Marlene Anduss of Ramona
and Charlene Sullivan of Peabody; brothers, Eugene Gede of Calimesa, Calif.,
and Lugene Gaede of Newton; sisters, Jolene West of Fort Scott and Rolene Gaede
of Racine, Wis.; brothers, Ragene Gaede of Holcomb and Virgene Gaede of Newton;
and 50 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by
her parents.
Visitation was from 1 to 9
p.m. Wednesday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton.
Service was at 10 a.m.today
at Petersen Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Kliewer officiating. Burial will be at
Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.
