Dorothy M. Van Rossun
1929 - 2020
Doris M. Van Rossun, 91, of Newton,
Kansas, died on December 7, 2020 at St. Francis hospital in Wichita,
Kansas.
She was born January 28, 1929, in
Newton, Kansas, the daughter of Preston and Katherine (Wilkerson)
Bean.
Doris cared deeply for others, and was
called to work as a health professional as a Certified Nurses Aid.
On September 1st, 1951, in Sedgwick,
KS, Doris was united in marriage to Walter Koehn. They were married
for 35 years at the time of Walter's passing in 1986.
In the spring on May 15th, 1988, Doris
married Ross Van Rossun in Newton.
Doris was a member of the Newton
Christian Church, and Newton Christian Church JOBS Daughters, and the
Women's Society of Christian Fellowship.
Doris is survived by her daughters,
Phyllis Lee (Charlie) Hirst, Margaret (Jack – deceased) Waggoner,
Carol Jean (Steve) Heathwaite and Janet Kay (Dan – deceased)
Stoecklein; grandchildren, Carina (Jason) Kranz, Natalie Hirst, Adam
(Kristi) Heathwaite, Amber (William) Fendley, Lacy (Rick) Dowers,
Katie (Derrick) Raya, and Kelsey (Deiondre) Teagle; nine
great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul Bean; and 5 nephews.
Due to COVID restrictions and private
family graveside service will be held in Greenwood Cemetery Newton,
Kansas with Pastor Justin Braker presiding.
