Dannie Lee Cyphers
NEWTON - Dannie Lee Cyphers, 72, went
to be with the Lord on December 8, 2020. Dannie was born to Herald
and Estella Cyphers on June 15, 1948 in Concordia, KS. He graduated
from Concordia High School in 1966.
After high school he volunteered
instead of getting drafted into the United States Army. He was
stationed in Germany. In 1969 returning home he worked for Beech
Aircraft later Raytheon for 44 years until he retired.
Dannie married Vicky Lour in 1969 in
Salina, KS. She preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife
Esther J. Cyphers. They were married 43 years and 9 months.
His hobbies included being an ACFA Cat
judge, he loved fishing, and hunting. But most of all cheering for
his beloved Kansas City Chiefs.
Dannie was preceded in death by
daughter, Edith Jean Best; and three grandchildren, Samantha Crook,
Breanna Crook, Jesus Escobedo.
He is survived by two sons, Danial
Poague of Newton, Michael Cyphers of Wichita; two daughters, Linda
Crook of Salina, Rhea Sewell of Wichita; eighteen grandchildren; nine
great-grandchildren; four sisters, Darlene Johnson (Doug), Della
Keough, Diana Sykes (Jim), Doris Wells (Jack); and one brother, David
Cyphers (Lynne’).
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday,
December 14, 2020 at Ryan Mortuary. Private family funeral services
will be held on Tuesday, December 15th. Burial will be in Gypsum Hill
Cemetery, Salina.
